Six Ways to Keep a Full Head of Hair

April 4, 2021 by Susan Paige

Have you recently noticed some changes in your hair thickness? It’s normal for hair to start thinning because of aging, poor nutrition, excessive use of hair-styling products, genetics, etc. Whatever the reason, individuals can try various methods to improve its strength, shine, and thickness.

Besides trying the benefits of a scalp massage, individuals can use an array of natural ingredients in the treatment against thinning, such as avocado, olive oil, eggs, oranges, aloe vera, and castor oil.

Have a look at six natural ways for improving hair health and density.

Scalp massage

This type of massage is believed to be highly efficient in keeping a full head of hair. The scalp is of essential importance for the health of the skin and hair due to being abundant in fungi and bacteria, necessary for the growth of the latter. In order for the health of the scalp not to be threatened, it’s supposed to be properly moisturized. Read here about the structure and clinical significance of the scalp.

Keep in mind that the use of harsh shampoos, conditioners, and thickening products compromise the PH balance of the scalp. These products are believed to leave plenty of residues and increase its PH level. Massaging this area stimulates the bloodstream as long as the process is performed correctly, starting from the hairline and ending at the back of the head.

Another way of keeping your scalp healthy is by washing your hair no more than three times weekly. Also, dry shampoos shouldn’t be overused to prevent follicles from clogging. When using a dry shampoo, the scalp is covered by a dusty layer, which prevents the growth of new hair.

Try egg treatment

An egg treatment is highly recommended for maintaining and increasing the thickness of hair if used on a regular basis. In order to make an egg treatment, make sure you beat either one or two eggs together, apply them to the scalp, and leave them there for as many as thirty minutes. Once you finish the treatment, use warm water and shampoo for rinsing.

There is another type of egg treatment you can try for the purpose of keeping your hair strong and healthy. The ingredients necessary for this treatment include egg yolks, two tablespoons of water, and a tablespoon of olive oil. The combination of ingredients should be applied to dry hair and left for fifteen minutes to work its magic. Egg treatments are supposed to be applied between one and two times weekly to provide the desired results.

Use olive oil

Olive oil is another popular ingredient in these treatments. Apart from being consumed through the diet, it can be applied to the scalp. Olive oil is believed to increase your hair density because of the role of omega-3 fatty acids in relieving dry scalp. The abundance of omega-3 acids and the rest of the nutrients also work miracles for its softness and shine.

In order to use olive oil as a treatment, individuals should heat it to body temperature, massage it into the scalp, and leave it between thirty and forty-five minutes to act. Afterward, it should be rinsed with shampoo. Some people use a combination of honey and olive oil, while others leave the oil to act overnight.

Try aloe vera

Aloe vera is another natural ingredient beneficial not only for the health of the skin but the hair as well. It’s touted to maintain and increase its strength when applied to the scalp. There is a myriad of aloe vera creams and gels available in the market, designed to improve the thickness and health of users’ hair.

If using commercial products isn’t your cup of tea, you can make an aloe vera solution at home by removing the pure aloe vera gel from the plant. The gel should be rubbed into the scalp and left for half an hour prior to being rinsed. For an even better effect, some individuals use the aloe gel in combination with olive oil or coconut oil a maximum of twice a week.

Give orange puree a shot

Oranges are believed to benefit the hair in a couple of ways, not just in maintaining its thickness. The presence of vitamin C and pectin is effective in improving its luster, hence making it shinier and thicker. In contrast, citric acid present in oranges is thought to assist hair growth by eliminating the residue from shampoos, conditioners, serums, and other products.

Most individuals love the treatment with orange puree owing to the pleasant odor of the tropical fruit. In order to make such a puree, you should blend a few oranges, rub the puree into the scalp, and leave it for almost an hour. Afterward, make sure to rinse it properly and use a conditioner if necessary.

Use avocado rub or castor oil

Another sought-after ingredient is the avocado, plentiful in vitamin E. This vitamin plays a significant role in scalp health, which is directly related to hair quality. It’s known to improve growth and quality by ensuring the lipid layer is preserved for protection, as well as minimizing the amount of oxidative stress.

The process of making an avocado rub is fairly straightforward, requiring a single avocado and a tablespoon of olive oil. The combination of these ingredients should be applied to the scalp and left there for thirty minutes. The avocado rub should be rinsed with shampoo once the treatment is done.

Another product containing vitamin E is castor oil. Besides vitamin E, this oil is rich in fatty acids. Individuals only need to apply it on the scalp and leave it on the head for half an hour prior to rinsing out.

Final word

Your hair deserves the best treatment with natural ingredients to remain thick, strong, and shiny.

Choose the ingredients you find most convenient, spare one hour weekly, and wait for the results to show after a few weeks.

There are no excuses when it comes to looking good!
