As you probably read in the last post Budget And The Bees was sold to another personal finance blogger. I’m Kylie Travers and the new owner of Budget And The Bees. I am super excited to be part of this amazing blog and wanted to let you know about where the blog will go from here as well as ask you what you have loved about the blog so far, what you would like to see more of etc.
I have been a blogger for a few years now and own quite a few sites, one of which has won Best International Personal Finance Blog in 2012 and 2013. I love finance and started sharing ways to make and save money back in 2009. My first blog was quickly seen by Wiley, who asked me to write 365 Ways To Make Money, which I did. I speak internationally about finances, blogging, homelessness and domestic violence because I have personally been affected by this things.
I am a single mother of 2 daughters, aged 6 and 7, who are half Australian, part Maori, part Tongan. We love to travel, cook, do crafts, garden, play sports and go hiking. In fact, our house backs onto a reserve. We live in Australia, but their dad was born in Hawaii and I go to the USA for work. Hopefully we will be making a family trip there in September.
My daughter “M”, myself and my daughter “H” in 2014
We live a frugal lifestyle and can’t wait to share some of it with you. If you want to know more about me specifically check out my site Kylie Travers (it’s more motivational/life improvement posts, not finance), previously I was on Kylie Ofiu which is the site that won awards. Ofiu was my married name, which I no longer use, but the site will stay up. I also own The Thrifty Issue, Aspiring Millionaire and a few others, plus run Occasio Enterprises, a social media marketing company specialising in social media strategies, workshops, mentoring and advertising. I am passionate about the community as well, especially causes around homelessness and domestic violence. I do the social media for a charity here, as well as serve on the board for another charity.
It won’t just be me writing on here. I have staff writers and one of the ones I am very excited will be contributing regularly here is Rachelle!
Rachelle grew up in Canada, has lived in Sweden for 3 years, traveled to China, parts of the USA, Mexico, Finland and is currently living in Australia. She’ll be sharing tips to save money on travel, things to see and do, as well as places she is travelling to or has been.
What do you want to see?
So that is a bit of background on us, but what I really want to know is what do you want to see more of on this blog? What areas of your budget do you struggle with? What are some questions you want answered? we want to keep the blog similar to what it has been with money saving tips, lifestyle, organisation, travel and an ‘ask us anything’ style. So feel free to leave a comment with your thoughts and have a great day!
